Perfect location for a cultural city break

Small boutique style hotel in a quiet street in Montparnasse, very close to Raspail métro station. Shops, restaurants, street market and tourist attractions all within a 5-10 minute stroll. The hotel is quite historic, with links to the artists, poets and composers of early 20th century Montparnasse. 24hour front desk, lift, refreshments available for a small sum in the lobby. Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the street, view of Montparnasse Tower. The room was small, as expected, but was freshly decorated, theme of Josephine Baker, (who probably didn't stay here!). It was perfectly clean, well equipped (kettle, minibar fridge, safe) , though only hangers for clothes and a very small desk/table. Bathroom also small, with shower and toilet. Very little room to turn round, put things, and not possible to sit straight on the loo. Some of the fittings were a little loose (loo and electric socket covers, and one of the bedside sockets didn't work). We mentioned this to front desk. Plenty of other sockets in working order, though. Bed was very comfortable, slept well. Altogether, a charming, convenient place to stay for your culture -themed city break.

No Frills humdrum hotel that is quiet and comfortable

Loved the location of this Hotel, the excellent receptionists who i got to interact with, the Raspail Metro less then a minute away, and is very quiet and peaceful. Monpatnasse along with the bars, restaurants and night life is just a stone throw away, as its Port Royale, Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon, and therefore the legendary Rue Moutteford. I had the superior double room (see pictures) with a bath. There was no shower curtain so the floor got wet during shower. Also i had to get the new towels myself from down stairs, as there was no cleaning every day. The fridge was small and weak, but better than nothing. It is okay for a few can of drink, but nt ideal for 1Litre+ water/coke bottles. The room did have aircon, it was the same Mitsubishi unit i have at work, right down to the same controls. on the wall. The first 3 nights the aircon did not work properly despite the 19 Degree C chosen on the panel. The last 2 night it worked perfectly just like the one in my office. I wonder if the temperature was controlled externally from a central panel that i did not have access too. 3 starts due to the issues with the aircon, small fridge and the fact no cleaning was done at all while i was there.

The staff was lovely. I got to interact with 3 different receptionists, and they were all kind and approachable. The room is comfy, cozy, and clean, though small, but it is Paris after all. The hotel and the street are quiet, and the subway station is a few steps away. There is also an elevator.

great atmosphere great location great bus routes great bmetro connections greatn restaurants montparnasse great area ...all in all Paris as it should be experienced ...personally I will be back on a regular basis and I believe special terms for longer stays can be arranged in advance

Pros: Location is close to the Metro Tube Service was excellent and place was very well maintained Helpful staff Quite Economic for a couples stay and Traveler friendly Cons The room is small(I did not mind as we only came back in the night to sleep)
